I worked for Cletus at the Pere Marquette/Hilton from 1970-1973 while I was in high school. He was a great postive influence and mentor to me. I was a busboy and I trained for asst maître'd cooking tableside on the weekends in the Peoria Room. He taught me everything about cooking tableside, flaming dinners/desserts and setting up the Dining Room for what event was taking place during the week. Clete was like a 2nd Dad to me. We often when to lunch together on Saturdays before the evening @ the Peoria Room with Billy Hill and his Orchestra. I enjoyed working @ the hotel during my high school years. After graduating in 73, I entered the US NAVY and retired after 26 yrs. I was just home in East Peoria because my Dad just passed away on FEB 6th. From my lovely wife and Family, My Hugs, Prayers and Thoughts with Clete's Family. God Bless!
